Design and Pattern: This is a Hex Flat Cold Chisel featuring the German pattern design. The hexagonal body shape provides a secure grip and prevents the tool from rolling when laid down.
Material: Constructed from high-quality Chrome Vanadium (Cr-V) Drop Forged steel, ensuring strength and longevity. The body is precision machined and Heat Treated.
Differential Hardness: The chisel is treated to have two different levels of hardness for optimal performance and safety:
- The cutting tip is hardened to HRC 52-58 for effective cutting and shaping of cold metal.
- The striking end is hardened to a lower HRC 32-46 to minimize the risk of chipping or mushrooming when struck by a hammer.
Finish: The body is treated with a blue Surface Paint. The working end is polished and Oil Coated to resist rust and corrosion.
Primary Function: Used for cutting, shaping, or removing cold metallic materials, as well as splitting and demolishing stone or masonry.
