Finding a 4" x 18" Paint Roller Handle usually refers to a "Mini Roller Frame" with a 4-inch wide cage and an 18-inch long reach. This is a popular specialized tool for reaching behind radiators, pipes, and other tight spaces without needing a full-sized extension pole.
| Brand | Length | Reach | Key Features |
| Nippon Paint | 18" | Standard | Solvent-resistant handle; fits all 4" mini refills (foam/fabric). |
| Hunter | 18" | Standard | Budget-friendly, durable zinc-plated steel frame. |
| Purdy Revolution | 12"–22" | Extra Long | Premium "Jumbo Mini" style; adjustable reach and very lightweight. |
| Stanley Dynagrip | 21" | Long Reach | Ergonomic soft-grip handle; slightly longer than the standard 18". |
Before buying, verify which Mini Roller Type you have, as the handles and covers are not always interchangeable:
Standard Mini (1/4" Wire): These use the thin, hollow core refills (like the Hunter or Nippon models).
Jumbo Mini (3/4" Core): These use thicker, "mini" versions of standard rollers (like the Wooster Jumbo-Koter or Purdy Revolution). The wire on these frames is much thicker and will not fit standard 1/4" core refills.
Extension Threading: Most 18-inch handles have a threaded base. If the 18-inch length isn't enough to reach the back of a deep cabinet or high trim, you can screw it onto a standard broom handle or extension pole.
The "Radiator" Trick: These are often marketed as "Radiator Rollers." If you are painting behind one, look for a frame that has a slight flex in the wire to help maintain pressure against the wall in narrow gaps.
