PRIMA® CO2 Flowmeter Regulator with Heater (Model 838CR-H)
This product is a highly specialized, single-stage gas control device designed for use with Carbon Dioxide gas cylinders, commonly utilized in MIG/MAG welding applications.
The core function of this unit is to safely regulate the extremely high pressure from the gas cylinder down to a stable, usable working pressure, and then to precisely control the flow rate of the CO2 gas being delivered to the welding torch.
Its most critical feature is the built-in electric heater, which operates at 36 Volts (36V). CO 2 expands rapidly when released from the high pressure of a cylinder, causing the gas and the regulator components to cool down drastically. The heater prevents this extreme cooling, which can lead to ice formation and freezing inside the regulator. By preventing freezing, the heater ensures a continuous and stable gas flow, which is essential for producing high-quality, porosity-free welds.
The unit is constructed from a robust, durable forged brass body. It features two main indicators: an Inlet Pressure Gauge, which displays the remaining pressure in the gas cylinder (up to 4,500 psi or 300 BAR), and a visible Flowmeter tube, which allows the user to monitor and set the precise gas flow rate, typically up to 25L/min. The regulator complies with the safety and performance standards of EN ISO 2503:2009+A1:2015.
