This product is a highly aggressive chemical solution engineered to break down and lift multiple layers of paint, varnish, lacquer, and other finishes from various surfaces, including wood, metal, and masonry.
Product Type: Solvent-Based Chemical Paint Remover / Stripper.
Composition: Paint removers typically rely on a powerful blend of volatile organic solvents. Historically, the most effective ingredient was Methylene Chloride (DCM), although modern consumer formulations often use less-hazardous, highly effective alternatives like N-Methylpyrrolidone (NMP), Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO), or strong solvent blends containing Acetone, Toluene, and Methanol. The exact composition is designed to penetrate the paint film and chemically break the bond between the paint and the substrate.
Formulation: It often comes in a thick, gel-like (thixotropic) consistency. This form is crucial as it allows the liquid to cling to vertical surfaces (like walls, doors, or furniture legs) without running off, maximizing contact time with the paint.
Function: Once applied in a thick layer, the solvents penetrate the coating, causing the paint to blister, wrinkle, and soften rapidly, allowing it to be easily scraped, scrubbed, or washed off.
Application: Applied directly to the surface using a brush. After the paint has blistered (typically 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the paint layers), the residue is scraped off.
