This item is an Eye Bolt Expansion Anchor (commonly known as a Wall Plug with Eye Bolt). It is a heavy-duty mechanical fastener designed for secure anchoring into solid materials like concrete, brick, or stone.
Material: High-strength Carbon Steel with a Yellow Zinc Plated (Passive) finish. This coating provides essential corrosion resistance for both indoor and outdoor use.
Expansion Mechanism: The assembly consists of a threaded eye bolt, a nut, a washer, and a split expansion sleeve. When the nut is tightened, the cone at the end of the bolt is pulled into the sleeve, forcing it to expand and grip the walls of the pre-drilled hole.
Integrated Eyelet: The closed-loop head (eye) provides a permanent attachment point for cables, ropes, hooks, or chains.
High Load Capacity: Designed to handle significant tension and shear loads compared to standard plastic wall plugs.
| Category | Typical Uses |
| Safety & Security | Anchoring safety harnesses, security chains for equipment, or window grilles. |
| Hardware & Rigging | Supporting sunshade sails, clotheslines, overhead lighting, and hanging plants. |
| Industrial | Cable management, tensioning wire ropes, and securing heavy-duty shelving to walls. |
| Construction | Temporary or permanent tie-off points on concrete structures. |
Drill: Use a masonry drill bit that matches the outside diameter of the expansion sleeve (not the bolt size).
Clean: Ensure the hole is clear of dust and debris for maximum friction.
Insert: Push or gently tap the entire anchor assembly into the hole until the washer is flush with the surface.
Tighten: Turn the nut clockwise. This pulls the wedge into the sleeve, locking the anchor permanently into the base material.
Substrate: This anchor is intended for solid base materials. It is not suitable for hollow bricks, drywall, or soft timber.
Sizing: Common sizes include M6, M8 and M10. The size refers to the diameter of the threaded bolt section.
Safety: Always check the specific weight rating of the anchor size you are using to ensure it meets your load requirements.
Commonly used for: DIY home installations, industrial rigging, and professional construction anchoring.
