The SKC S2 No. 88 is a Spring-Type T-Handle Tap Holder.¹ Unlike the ratchet type which uses a mechanical gear, the "spring type" (or fixed type) relies on a spring-loaded tensioning mechanism within the chuck to help maintain a firm grip on the tap and provide smoother tactile feedback during hand tapping.
